About Stay
Shaanxi Normal University established the International Chinese College in 2005 based on the International Students Teaching Department. It is the leading unit and centralized management department for international students in the school. In addition to being responsible for the undergraduate majors of Chinese Language and Literature (Foreign Students) and the postgraduate majors of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (Foreign Students), at Shaanxi Normal University In addition to the training and management work, he is also specifically responsible for the teaching and training of preparatory education for international students in China, public courses for international students, and Chinese language courses for non-academic international students in China.
Chinese Language Student Program
International students are recruited in spring and autumn, and the study time is 18 weeks each; there are 6 levels of teaching classes, including elementary, intermediate and advanced, according to the level of Chinese proficiency. Students who need to study for a degree can apply to transfer to the second or third year of the Chinese language and literature major at the International Chinese College after passing the relevant examinations. After completing the credits, they can obtain a bachelor’s degree.
Summer Project

Student Activities
To enrich the extracurricular life of international students and help them better integrate into Chinese campus culture, our school carries out a variety of rich activities for international students, which are divided into ongoing activities all year round and activities held at fixed times every year. Extracurricular activities are led by the International Student Management Office, and the international student counsellors are responsible for the specific implementation. The Wuzhou Hanyun Student Association under the International Chinese College assists in the organization. Three types of activities are held continuously throughout the year: language partners for international students, interest classes for international students, and language practice activities. In addition, extracurricular activities suitable for that month will be customized once a month based on festivals, weather and other conditions.
Language Practice Activities
To encourage international students to go out of the classroom to learn Chinese, improve their Chinese proficiency, broaden their horizons, increase their knowledge, feel the traditional Chinese culture, and experience the local customs of Shaanxi, our school carries out four language practice activities every semester, on average once a month. The main form of language practice activities is sightseeing. The main destinations are Xi’an and its surrounding scenic spots and historic sites. So far, students have been organized to visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, Huaqing Pool, Ancient City Wall, Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Hanyang Tomb, Guanzhong Folk Museum, Nan Wutai Mountain, Tang Zhaoling, Yaowang Mountain, Yuanjiacun, Water Street and other scenic spots and historical sites. In the future, students will also be organized to go to further places such as Longmen Grottoes, Shaolin Temple, Hexi Corridor Silk Road and other places.
Monthly Activities
Language companions, international students’ interest classes and language practice activities have become brand activities for international students that our school continues to hold all year round. In addition, our school will also tailor-made events suitable for that month based on the holiday customs, weather conditions and other characteristics of the month. Other student activities have formed a fixed system of extracurricular activities for international students.
Eat At Normal University
The student cafeteria of Shaanxi Normal University is famous for its delicious food and is famous for its delicious food in Xi’an universities. There are 7 canteens in Yanta Campus. Medical Insurance
To protect the medical assistance rights of international students during their stay in China and reduce the financial pressure on students when they encounter accidental injuries, all international students studying in our school are required to purchase international student insurance in China recommended by the Ministry of Education (the insurance fee is 400 yuan per semester), 800 yuan for the whole year), otherwise, the relevant admission procedures will not be processed. Students who have purchased insurance in their home country are required to provide relevant insurance certificates when registering for admission. If the certificate is valid after being reviewed by the school, they do not need to purchase international student insurance in China and go through the relevant admission procedures.
