Library

The main library of the school has two branches: the main library and the main building branch. As of the end of 2012, the school’s main library has a total area of 15,500 square meters, 1,900 reading seats, and 890,300 paper collections, including 827,800 books, nearly 62,500 bound periodicals, and 1066 subscriptions to Chinese and foreign periodicals. The collections of e-books and e-journals have reached 1,296,000 volumes and 141,400 volumes, respectively. There are more than 8,000 CD-ROMs and 25,000 pieces attached to the books. Additionally, the school has purchased 49 Chinese and foreign language network databases (including mirrors) such as Chinese academic journals, reading knowledge bases, SCI, EI, IEL, ASME, Elsevier, etc. These databases correspond to the disciplines of the school, featuring electric power and power literature. It also covers a multi-disciplinary and multi-form collection document resource system such as economics, management, information, and the humanities.

Accommodation

To support the development of education for international students in China, North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) has invested a large number of funds for the construction and improvement of accommodation conditions for international students since it began to recruit international students. NCEPU currently has two dormitory buildings for international students, International Student Dormitory and Student Apartment No.13. In addition, the school has specially approved some expert apartments and staff dormitories for international students. Among them, Ph.D. students live in double rooms, and master students and undergraduates live in four-person rooms. The dormitory has sufficient supporting facilities, including toilets, colour TVs, refrigerators, wardrobes, water heaters, air conditioners, broadband and other hardware facilities.

The North China Electric Power University Hospital (community health service center of North China Electric Power University) is located in the north of the university campus, which is subordinate to North China Electric Power University. With a construction area of 3,030 square meters, the hospital has more than 20 clinical and auxiliary departments, such as internal medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, gynecology, stomatology, preventive medicine, general medicine (ophthalmology, ENT), traditional Chinese medicine and laboratory medicine, medical imaging (including radiology and B-ultrasound room), electrocardiogram room, and pharmacy, with 26 beds.

The service population mainly includes more than 30,000 students, teaching staff and their families, and the surrounding people, with an average annual outpatient and emergency number of more than 60,000 people. It undertakes health education for college students and the prevention and control of school public health every year, completes all kinds of physical examinations for more than 10,000 people, and provides immunization services for different groups.
